ROUTES TO RIDE.....

Picture
Ride routes vary greatly, depending on who decides what when we meet, the weather, ride events (sportives etc) coming up....And sometimes on hangover extent, jobs to be done at home .. all those other things that get in the way. Work even.

But generally everyone has a say as to what route they'd like to ride and then someone makes an executive decision.

Most routes will involve some hills, Sussex being the Alpine centre of the south east of England. But flat can be arranged at the beginning or end and we try to get the wind in our backs for the last part of the ride.

Some routes have been uploaded onto Bikely a route share website Bikely and we want to add loads more routes so you can ride them at other times with or without your mates. And as we progress we will plan a route for the up-coming Saturday so everyone knows what they are in for.

Type Eastbourne into the search box and all routes submitted to the site which feature Eastbourne will show. Those submitted by Washo will be a Tri Store Saturday ride, but we take suggestions from anyone. Expect those fools who cycle 600km without sleep. They aren't really human.

Support

Picture
Sorry, we can't provide this level of support on the rides.

But we do help each other out and hopefully won't drop anyone in the middle of nowhere.

And generally no-one minds stopping for cake and a breather.

And before you go check out the weather at Metcheck

Up-coming Rides

The 1066 and Mad Jacks have been and gone. 1066 was on Feb 6, fairly testing and the weather was OK. Mad Jack Fuller's was on Feb 20 - v cold but bright and sunny, and the roads were very icy, to the point that we had to walk 4 or 5 times. Skinny tyres, cleats and ice are not a good combination. Hard ride with over 2300m of climbing, so a real test for those who hadn't been able to get on their bikes because of the weather.

See the Calendar page for more rides - there are a couple this Sunday 7 March.

Saturday rides will be a regular occurrence from now on, as long as the weather allows. Be at the Tri Store at 9am on Saturday.
